BuySell Consortium is an M&A advisory and business valuation firm located at 18 King Street East, Suite 1400, Toronto, Ontario M5C 1C4. This policy explains what personal information we collect through buysellconsortium.com, how we use it, and the choices you have. We handle personal information in accordance with the Personal Information Protection and Electronic Documents Act (PIPEDA) and Canada’s Anti-Spam Legislation (CASL).
When you submit a form on this site we collect what you enter: your name, email address, company, telephone number, the subject you want to discuss and any notes you add. When you register for The Consortium Brief we also collect your acquisition criteria, such as the sectors, regions and size of business you are interested in. We record the date, time and page of each submission and the IP address it came from, which we use to detect automated abuse.
We do not collect payment details through this site and we do not ask for financial account information on any form.
We use contact form submissions to respond to your enquiry. We use Consortium Brief registrations to send you the brief and, where your criteria match, to tell you about acquisition opportunities. We use the information you give us to prepare for a conversation with you and, if you engage us, to carry out that engagement.
Every form on this site includes an express consent statement. We send commercial electronic messages only to people who have given that consent or who have an existing business relationship with us, and every such message includes a working unsubscribe link or reply instruction. You can withdraw consent at any time by using that link or by emailing us.
Enquiries about selling, buying or valuing a business are treated as confidential from the first message. We do not disclose the identity of an owner who has contacted us to any buyer, and we do not identify a buyer to an owner, until a non-disclosure agreement is in place and both parties have agreed to the introduction.
We do not sell personal information. We share it only with service providers that help us run the site and communicate with you: our website host, our email and form processing providers, and our analytics provider once one is in use. These providers act on our instructions and may store data outside Canada, including in the United States, where it is subject to the laws of that jurisdiction. We may also disclose information where the law requires it.
This site uses the cookies needed for it to function, including a cookie that protects our forms against automated submissions. If we add web analytics, it will be used to understand which pages are read and for how long, not to identify you personally. You can block cookies in your browser without losing access to the site.
We keep enquiry records for as long as needed to respond to you and to maintain a record of the relationship, and we keep Consortium Brief registrations until you unsubscribe. Records connected to an engagement are kept for the period required by our professional and legal obligations.
You can ask us what personal information we hold about you, ask us to correct it, or ask us to delete it where we are not required to keep it. Write to charles.saleh@buysellconsortium.com and we will respond within thirty days. If you are not satisfied with our response you may contact the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.
We will post any change to this policy on this page and update the date at the top.
